Well with some deliberation, here they are my favorite fabrics from the 3 Day Blinds line. I hope that you enjoy them just as much as I do!

It’s finally the summertime! The beach is the best place to be this time of year.  Smelling like sun block as you enjoy the sand, surf, breeze and simply taking pleasure in relaxing along the shore. The coastal design helps bring that feeling home. The pattern Barrier Reef | Sea Breeze is a beautiful fabric that is both fun with the reef pattern and sophisticated with the embroidery. By adding a Roller Shade in Calceta | Driftwood, you’ll have all the elements you need to complete that beach feel.

 2.       Never to Tarnish… Eminence | Silver

Souce: Buzznet, 3 Day Blinds

Don’t limit your silver to just jewelry and kitchenware! Being easy on the eyes, grays are the neutral of the season. Grays are everywhere and offer a bit of sophistication to soften the environment. Most shades of gray are absorbent colors that change with the light, so it’s easy to match with your current decor. With an intricate pattern, Eminence | Silver adds the visual interest you need to intrigue your guests with your elegant style.  In addition, metallic colors such as copper are playing an increasingly important role in modern design. Eminence | Russet embraces the copper tone with highlights of yellow and a subtle hint of clay. Aren’t these modern metals marvelous!

Marsala Blog #1

Using Marsala in Your Home

Interior designers around the world were excited when color authority Pantone revealed its 2015 Color of the Year.  As its name would suggest, “Marsala” can be described as a rich, wine color. We should expect to see Marsala frequently on the runways and in home decor throughout the year.

You don’t need a complete design makeover to give your room a little pizzazz. Pantone’s Color of the Year works great with just about every color scheme. Start out simple with some centerpieces, rugs, or even  window treatments to refresh your interior space. Curtains are an easy way to add that pop of color, but don’t take our word for it. Check out these fabulous home decor designs for inspiration on how to use Marsala.

Marsala as an Accent

These carefully chosen pillows add just the right amount of color and keep the room feeling light and open. Go a step further and add some tastefully placed window treatments to block out the mid day sun. If you are looking for a splash of color, Marsala’s earthy tone adds a nice contrast in any room.

Lamps, rugs, chairs, curtains, and even a table centerpiece can add that extra finishing touch to your space. Try out some fun accent centerpieces.

A bold accent wall or window treatments keep a room from looking stark and uninviting. Give your space a modern twist with a dark colored accent wall or drapes.

Chevron Print Window treatments

Trend Report: Chevron Print Window Treatments

A motif of the past reemerges as one of the top fashion trends. Geometric shapes are popping up all over the market, but the print that we all can’t get enough of is chevron.  The zigzag pattern is everywhere- pillows, dresses, cell phone cases and custom window treatments!

To say, chevron is a timeless pattern, is meant quite literally. The zigzag pattern dates back to 1800 B.C. in Greece. The print originated in pottery, furniture, and other interior items. The Art Deco Movement, in the 1920’s and 30’s revived chevron print and was popularized by home décor and clothing items.Chevron Print Window treatments

Today, chevron is back on the market and more prominent than ever. Why the obsession with the simple zigzag print? Well, for one, it’s suited for home décor items, especially window treatments. Chevron print adds textural interests without being overwhelming, making it a great print to pull into your homes décor. Secondly, there is something aesthetically soothing about symmetrical and linear patterns when used throughout the home.

3 Day Blinds Soft Roman Shades

3 Day Blinds v. Kim Kardashian

3 Day Blinds Soft Roman Shades

Who wore it better?

Celebrity Kim Kardashian is considered one the leading fashion icons in the industry but 3 Day Blinds Soft Roman Shade in Addison Verdant fabric certainly gives her a run for her money when it comes to floral prints.

Eye catching | Soft Roman Shade

While although Kim’s gown is definitely eye catching, it is catching all the wrong attention.  The winner of this category is 3 Day Blinds Soft Roman Shade because it’s turning heads in the right direction. Sophisticated yet, elegant this Soft Roman Shade makes a dramatic statement in both pattern and style.

Versatile  | Soft Roman Shade

Kim also falls short of the Soft Roman Shade in the category of versatility. This gown probably shouldn’t be worn in the current floral print let alone any other pattern or color. The Soft Roman Shade looks exquisite in any room and comes in 5 different shade styles and over 160 fabrics exclusive from 3 Day Blinds. Now that is variety!

Fit | Soft Roman Shade

I’m not convinced that Kim’s dress is the best fit for a woman as far along in her pregnancy as she is. You know that saying, “it fits like a glove”? This dress takes that saying to an extreme, not to mention it certainly cannot be comfortable! On the other hand, the Soft Roman Shade will fit in any window perfectly. Because 3 Day Blinds brings the showroom to you, and handles everything- from measurement to the installation, you know your Soft Roman Shades will be a custom fit.

A valiant effort from Kim Kardashain but 3 Day Blinds Soft Roman Shade exceeds her gown in all areas of expertise. Cool Home Design Ideas

Cool Home Design Ideas

With so many cool home design options out there, it can be difficult to decide how to decorate your space to make it your own. Your home is your refuge. It should be functional, comfortable, and reflect your personal style.

Possible sources of design theme inspiration include favorite historical time periods, your best-loved hobbies, cultures you’re interested in, or your favorite vacation spots. With some careful consideration, you can create a place that you’ll be happy to call home.

Time Capsules

History is rich with design inspiration. If you’re enamored with the opulence and warmth of the Victorian Era style, you’re not alone. This popular design style employs deep reds, rich greens, and golds, patterns inspired by nature and ornate, often sturdily crafted furniture, generally made of dark woods. Window treatments from this era were usually of the “soft” variety, such as sheer curtains in rooms where natural light was desired, and luxurious drapery panels in areas where privacy and a more stately look was desired.

If you’re taking a slightly newer page from the history book, you can draw inspiration from retro styles from the ‘60s and ‘70s. Homes decorated in this style typically use lots of earthy base colors, accented by citrus tones, and deep purple and electric blues.

Retro-futuristic designs, in the vein of Arne Jacobsen’s iconic design language pair well with this look, as do Vertical Blinds and Mini Blinds in bold colors.

Vacation at Home

After arriving back home from a great vacation, it can be difficult to return to the daily grind. Fortunately, you can keep a little bit of that adventurous spirit with you by bringing it into your interior design.

Mix Woven Wood Shades with bold animal prints, subtle browns, grays, and whites, and classic furniture in complementary colors to add an exotic African feel to your living room.

Patterned ceramic tiles; rustic, textured walls; and bright, but natural colors can all be put together to create a festive Latin American theme. For window treatments, opt for bright, color-coordinated curtains, or Wood Horizontal Blinds with complementary accent tapes.

Follow Your Muse

Maybe you’re a retail manager by day, and a rock star by night. Or perhaps you’re a web designer with a burning passion for developing your own photos. Most of us have an artistic side, and it can be a great source of inspiration when designing your home.

Perhaps your home office needs a little more rock ’n’ roll. Checkerboard floors, framed posters of classic album covers, and a red Stratocaster guitar mounted proudly on the wall are all good places to start. Add some wide-slat metallic Mini Blinds, and you’re ready to rock.

Those photos you have stashed away in your attic or basement deserve to be seen. Frame your black and white photographs in clean, contemporary frames and create a modern, minimal space that embraces gray scale. The striking lines and visual repetition of Vertical Blinds might be just the thing to really make it work.
