1. Eco- Friendly Wall Decor for Home:

This may appear to be an expensive wall fixture but you’ll be surprised to find out, it’s actually made from old toilet paper rolls. Snip up toilet paper rolls about an inch wide, bend them to achieve the shape you desire and start hot gluing them together. Looking to make more of a statement on your wall? Use non-toxic paint to add a splash of color to your toilet paper rolls. This project is not only a great way to recycle but you end up with a fabulous wall fixture.

2. Live Green with a Reusable Tote:

Everyone knows that reusing bags, water bottles and other items can make a huge difference on the environment. But how much of a difference? Well, according to Wall Street Journal, a plastic shopping bag can take anywhere from 15 to 1000 years to decompose. Do yourself and the earth a favor and and vow to only use reusable bags, it’s an easy way to make a huge difference.

3. Recycled Wrapping Paper:

Creative, cute and eco- friendly! These gifts are wrapped so perfectly I would have a hard time unwrapping them. Completely eco-friendly these gifts are wrapped with a  brown paper bag or old tissue paper and accented with old buttons and a burlap bows. There’s nothing more fun than receiving a present that’s as pretty on the outside as it is once it’s unwrapped. And as an added bonus the gift is wrapped entirely from recycled products!

4. Teach Your Kids to Live a Green Lifestyle:

Creating eco- friendly spaces like this one for your children to play in will surely facilitate a healthy lifestyle and get them thinking about keeping our earth green at a young age. What I find especially great about eco- friendly furnishings is that they have a simple, urban, flair that help achieve a minimalist and modern look.

5. Decorate with Natural Fibers:

According to Country Living one of the top 10 eco- friendly decorating tips is to buy eco friendly shades, and we at 3 Day Blinds couldn’t agree more. 3 Day Blinds is dedicated to protecting our earth and help you live a greener lifestyle by providing eco- friendly window treatments.

Woven Wood shades are one of the best environmentally friendly window treatments because they are made from natural textures like bamboo. These shades provide a clean, sophisticated look that’s also earth-friendly (bamboo grows with few chemicals and naturally regenerates).

We all want to be more eco- friendly, and the home is a great place to start. Hopefully these tips have inspired you to bring some green practices into your decor. 3 Day Blinds is dedicated to providing you with eco- friendly window treatments to help preserve our natural resources and limit landfill waste.
